This work challenges ingrained notions of hegemonic domination, systemic violence, and exploitation directed toward humans and the environment. Blooming Wish is created atop a foundation of broken glass that would otherwise be viewed as valueless, likely ending up in a landfill. While creating Blooming Wish, I envisioned a future marked by harmony and respect rather than institutional violence and harm. Whenever possible, I love incorporating materials that were once litter, like plastic pieces I found on my local beach in Florida.

Blooming Wish is currently on loan to the Design Museum of Chicago as part of the exhibition Voices Embodied: Prognostication curated by Alex Stark.
